Multimap Interactive map of GB - type in a postcode or placename to get an Ordnance Survey style map. Also has air photos and can produce hybrid maps, but note that coverage is incomplete. http://www.multimap.com/map/home.cgi?db=GB
Get-a-map is a free internet mapping service provided by the Ordnance Survey. Mainly 1:50,000 maps. You can enter the placename, postcode or grid reference to find places. Neighbourhood statistics The Office of National Statistics has added OS maps to its popular neighbourhood statistics service. Type in a postcode or zoom in using maps. Neighbourhood Statistics say their "state-of-the-art Geographical Information System... provides new and improved search options which, for the first time, allow users to search specified areas which cross ward boundaries". The Environment Agency Offers a postcode based service displaying your own 'backyard' for England and Wales. You can look up the polluters in a locality and get a map of the flood risk. http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk

One-inch 'popular edition' map of Scotland 1921-1930 Excellent historical map which can be used to examine urban development patterns.
